See below for just a small selection of up and coming activities on site or near by over the next few months
Sherwood Pines Campsite will host Forage Box on various dates throughout the winter with their outstanding “Introduction to Foraging Workshops” for our campers.
The workshop includes identifying, picking, and tasting a range of wild species that you will find on the day, and lots of sample food and drink items for everyone to get stuck into!
The focus with all of our workshops is on the 4 'F's of Foraging: Fungi, Fruit, Flowers and Foliage.
Here is what you can expect from your foraging workshop:
A circular walking route taking in different growing environments around the site within the wooded boundaries of Sherwood Pines Campsite, nestled within Sherwood Forest. Expect a route of around 1-2km predominantly on footpaths.
A closer look at edible wild species and any poisonous lookalikes by a professional forager.
A chance to immerse yourself in a soul-nourishing activity, reconnecting with nature and discovering new flavours. Small tasters of wild food, drink and preserves - this includes nibbles of freshly picked items straight from the hedgerow. This session will include a wild snack made in advance by our passionate tutor! Whatever you get to try on the day, you will leave fizzing with inspiration! Further information, meeting points and, tickets can be found by clicking on the Book Foraging buttons.
Pre-booking this popular activity is essential as spaces are limited and should be booked in advance. Non Campers and local residents are also encouraged to book tickets, and if parking on site a £5 per car fee will apply paid to the campsite on arrival.
